This is an example disassembley of a 17" 3 year old monitor (approx) to use as an example for it's value in dollars. A normally competetant worker can take it apart and separate it into the catagories shown in about .5 hours. No special tools are required for this job. A reasonable amount of safety is required around the CRT tube as it should be handled with care as it is leaded glass filled to low pressure with an inert gas Another .5 hours would be required to remove valued electronic components from the Printed Circuit Board. This requires some competancy with a soldering iron and knowledge of which components to remove. One can also use a heat gun or blow torch but this would cause hazardous gases and proper ventilation is required and is not exactly safety minded working. |

| PC Board and Components | 989 | 2.18 | 6.0 | 12.50 | Note that this recovery is based on spending 0.5 hours taking the parts off the board and sorting them. The $ value is based on the assumption that people in the electronics service and industry will buy these parts. I am optimstic that there is a market for these parts. See the section on monitor PC Board disassembley for details. | |

Possible Recovery $ |
$7.00 | This profit could be substatially improved by getting something /lb for the CRT and getting a better price for the plastic. |
